Welcome to the Memorial Medical WhistleStop Marathon and Half- Marathon on Chequamegon, pronounced (She-Wah-Me-Gon), Bay in Ashland, Wisconsin, where you will “Find yourself next to the water!” Join us on our beautiful marathon course that begins in Iron River, Wisconsin and finishes in Ashland, Wisconsin on Lake Superior’s south shore. The scenic fall backdrop will surround you as you run on a gradual decline towards the finish line in Ashland. Our fall marathon offers you spectacular views of the countryside, fall colors, and the most fun- friendly aid stations. It’s easy to see why the WhistleStop is the Upper Midwest’s best fall classic. Maybe you are trying to qualify for Boston, or you might be hoping for that Person Record, or this may be a first long-distance event for you. Regardless the reason, the race staff, along, with our volunteer team, are here to support you from the start-line to the finish-line and thank you for choosing the WhistleStop Marathon!! We know you will feel the warm hospitality from our businesses and residents as you embark on the most Scenic, Fun, Fall Marathon, with the best volunteers!

8:30 a.m. - Half and Full Marathon start

3:00 p.m. - Awards

Awards:

There will be awards presented at 3:00 p.m. in the festival tent for:

  • Top three overall Male & Female

  • Top 3 in each age group: 12-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

  • Top 3 Male & Female that are 40 years of age or older.

  • Top Male & Female who reside in Ashland or Bayfield Counties.

Full Marathon

  • $69.00 now through 3/31/20

  • $79.00  if postmarked between 4/01/20-09/28/20

  • $89.00 if registered after 9/28/20

Half Marathon

  • $65.00 if postmarked by 3/31/20

  • $75.00 if postmarked between 4/01/20-9/28/20

  • $89.00 if registered after 09/28/2020

There is NO race day registration for the WhistleStop Marathon/Half-Marathon.
