2 Events - One Weekend

Race Forward 2-Day 5K Run/Walk is an untimed community fun run/walk. Children under 10 can register for free and virtual options are available. Bring your friends and families together for a casual (or competitive) run/walk against racism. We make every effort to accommodate adaptive participants in this event.

We are thrilled to bring back our Women’s Triathlon this summer and excited to welcome our fabulous triathletes back to the sport!

Race Forward 2-Day Women’s Triathlon celebrates the strength of all women. We welcome all women and non-binary people who identify with womanhood to challenge themselves to a swim, bike and run around Lake Nokomis. The event course is also para-friendly for adaptive athletes, and some scholarships are available for first-time athletes. All racers age 11 and up are welcome to participate — regardless of skill or activity level.

Voted race of the year in 2012, 2017 and 2019!

Date: Sunday, August 14, 2022
Time: First wave starts at 8:00 am
Location: Lake Nokomis

Gender and racial disparities in sports participation, health outcomes, and physical well-being are endemic in our culture. Women and girls, especially those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), are less likely to participate in sports due to social stigma, lack of access, and limited representation. Racism, both structural and interpersonal, has a direct, negative effect on the mental and physical health of millions of people in America.

Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming space for individuals of all abilities to participate in physical challenges that also challenge the status quo. We bring individuals and families together to call attention to these important cultural and public health issues in our Race Forward 2-Day weekend of events.
