Founders 5k Fun Run and Sister Arnold Walk

The Founders 5K

The 5K course honors the 12th President of Briar Cliff University, Patrick J. Schulte's passion for running combined with inspiration from Sister Arnold’s daily route up and down the cliff— rain or shine — for 31 years. The course will begin by retracing Sister Arnold’s route down The Cliff before making their way down along the Prairie Creek Trail before returning to Sister Arnold’s usual route back up The Cliff.

Sister Arnold Walk

Sister Mary Arnold Staudt taught in the Department of Music and served as the University’s organist from 1979 to 2010. Sister Arnold reminded everyone that the key to a healthy life is walking up and down the beloved Cliff every day — rain or shine — for 31 years. Participants of The Sister Arnold Walk will retrace her route around The Cliff campus in a 1-mile walk.

Participants can walk or run either distance, but may ONLY sign up for ONE route and cannot switch during the event.

4:45 pm - Check in/Registration
5:45 pm - Participants line up
6:00 pm - Race Starts
